Scare Me Up A Crow

Watching over the Pumpkin Patch and scaring crows is this whimsical character from  WhipPer SnapPer Designs.  He was colored on Canson cold press watercolor paper using Ranger Distress inks followed by a spritz of gold Glitter Dust. My background paper is DCWV shimmer in purple.  This A2 sized  Happy Halloween card went out to my brother Bill and his young daughters who live in Iowa.  They probably know how to appreciate a too cute to spook scarecrow who's trying his best.

Crisp and cool, thinking fall

It's been a long week for me and I haven't been crafting as much as I'd like.  However, the autumnal temperatures did spur me on to create two cards for the season.  Both are to send to close friends, one of whom is fighting cancer, I like to let her know what an inspiration she is to me and that she is often in my thoughts.  Both of these cards feature digital images from Dearie Dolls Digital Stamps. They are from the Freebies collection she graciously offers at her blog.  These are simple cards to make; I did some distress ink blending and highlighting with Wink of Stella clear.  For sparkle I love to use sequins and even an occaisonal piece of "bling".  I found a Four Seasons paper pad from Paper Studio and the design papers are from that pad and from My Mind's Eye. Enjoy.

Halloween Fun Crafts

Halloween has always been a favorite day of celebration at our house.  We don't do much decorating until the leaves start falling and the calendar reads OCTOBER.  Then the Jack 'o Lanterns come out and the place starts wearing it's orange and black. This year I've been working on making some more decorations from kitchen recyclables.  My plan was for a witches spell shelf filled with lots of weird  and ghastly ingredients.  I'm not there yet but have been working on some of the bottles using both plastic and glass jars and bottles from my kitchen. The idea came from posts on Pintrest but all are of my own imagination and creation.

First Halloween Card Sent

Today I sent out the first of my Halloween card creations.

This card was created using free design paper from one of my magazine subscriptions. The witch and bats are Cricut cut files cut on black card stock. I'm still pretty much a novice with my Cricut but will keep trying to expand my knowledge and use of the machine.
A fun greeting for my granddaughter and husband who are serving in the Army at Ft Meade, Maryland.

Back To Basics

So I posted one post and didn't get back  for six years; that's sad.  But life happens and it really did happen to me.  At 60 years old I became a Mama again to a beautiful baby boy.  He's a joy in my life and I've loved every busy moment we've experienced.  Learning to live with a child on the autism spectrum is not for the faint of heart.  My escape is paper crafting (scrapbooking and card making). I'd like to share some of my work here. It's a hobby and my escape - I'm not a professional by any means.  Just having fun and hoping to share with like minded persons.

So here are two recent birthday cards I made for my grand daughters' boyfriends. Both great guys. One is an avid fisherman.
